On November 14th, the director of Barcelona office of European TCM Development and Promotion Center, Zhang Xiangyong was invited to visit University of Roviera Virgili (Universitat Rovira i Virgili) and Catalan Technology Center and discuss with the president of the university and the director of the center about international educational cooperation of TCM, the expansion of international scientific research, academic exchange and cooperation of TCM.
University of Roviera Virgili, a public university in Spain, is located in Tarragona, autonomous region of Catalonia. Medical and health sciences, nutrition and food sciences, chemistry and brewing technology are superior subjects of this university which has strong scientific research foundation and cooperative exchanges with more than ten universities in China such as Peking University. Catalan Technology Center is a scientific research organization dominated by Catalonia Government with more than 600 researchers, 18 research departments and 43 million euro research investment, and more than 160 research projects in cooperation with a number of universities and scientific research institutions, providing technical support for more than 1,000 enterprises. The Nutrition and Health Research Department has been contact with us, which has extensive experience in the research and detection of food, health products and health relationships.
During the visit, professor Josep A. Ferré, the president of University of Roviera Virgili; Miss Mar Gutiérrez-Colón, vice president of the university who is in charge of international affairs and professor Lluís Arola, the director of Catalan Technology Center, discussed with director Zhang Xiangyong about cooperation of TCM education and scientific research. They all hope to deepen understanding and exchange, further explore cooperation in the field of professional education, diploma education of TCM, doctoral and postdoctoral research, use all advantages to develop new fields of education, medical and scientific research cooperation to promote the development of TCM in Spain and Europe.
