Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the governmental administrative organization in charge of the affairs of traditional Chinese medicine for Beijing city.

(I) To implement national laws, regulations, rules and policies for the traditional Chinese medicine, the combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine and the ethnic medicine; to compile and put the relative drafts of Beijing local rules and government regulations into effect .
(II) To plan and coordinate Beijing local resources of traditional Chinese medicine; to develop the overall plan and object for the development of traditional Chinese medicine; to participate in developing the promoting policies for the traditional Chinese medicine industry.
(III) To inherit and develop the traditional Chinese medicine culture; to take up the responsibility for the preservation of the extincting technologies of traditional Chinese medical diagnosis, treatment, medicine production and processing.
(IV) To examine and approve the qualifications, as well as to supervise and regulate the operations of Beijing local medical organizations of traditional Chinese medicine, the combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine and the ethnic medicine; to supervise and regulate traditional Chinese medical treatment, prophylaxis, health care, rehabilitation, nursing and clinical medication; to implement the system of qualifications licensing for the traditional Chinese medical staff.
(V) To guide and implement the affairs of traditional Chinese medicine in Beijing local rural and community hygiene.
(VI) To develop and implement plans of Beijing local scientific researching and technical development for traditional Chinese medicine; to guide the improvement of researching conditions and capability for traditional Chinese medicine, the combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine and the ethnic medicine.
(VII) To develop and implement Beijing local development plans for traditional Chinese medicine talents; to organize the affairs, with related departments, of traditional Chinese medical educations of master and disciple, post-graduate and continuing learning types, as well as related talents training.
(VIII) To carry out the international exchange and cooperation, as well as the international promotion and application, for Beijing local traditional Chinese medical affairs.
(IX) To undertake other tasks assigned by Beijing Government and Beijing Municipal Health Bureau.
